my story
My interest in UX started before I even knew what UX was. I got my Bachelor’s degree from Macalester College in linguistics with concentrations in computer science and cognitive science. My undergraduate education allowed me to pursue my passion for researching and identifying patterns in human behavior and cognition.
I went on to attend Carnegie Mellon’s Master of Human-Computer Interaction program to grow the skills necessary to bring meaningful experiences through digital design. During my time at CMU, I built up my product design and research skillset through collaborative team projects, working with cross-functional teams to deliver practical solutions to stakeholders, learning how to design AI products and services, and conducting user research to uncover insights and needs through hands-on experience.
My multidisciplinary background allowed me to bring a unique perspective to the world of design. My love of language and its structure has taught me how to create user-friendly interfaces that are intuitive and easy to use.
My broad range of expertise has exposed me to a wide array of different perspectives. I bring an interdisciplinary approach to every project and awareness of multiple stakeholders.
My experience in radio has taught me the power of storytelling -- I apply these skills both when working with stakeholders and pitching to clients as well as in my designs.
I investigate behavior through immersive research methods. I apply these elicitation skills to how I handle user research, which enables me to dig deeper into uncovering user needs and create designs with empathy.
